December 27, 2024
Maria Parham Health is pleased to announce the addition of Evan Colvin, MSN, AGACNP-BC, as a new provider to its team. Colvin brings extensive experience as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with specialized expertise in critical care, cardiology, and urgent care.
Colvin completed her Master of Science in Nursing (AGACNP) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in August 2023. She has honed her skills through diverse clinical rotations, including critical care, cardiology, and urgent care, totaling over 600 hours of hands-on training. Her clinical experience ranges from working in intensive care units to providing outpatient care in cardiology, where she developed proficiency in conducting patient assessments, interpreting EKGs, and managing complex cardiovascular conditions.
Most recently, Colvin worked as a Registered Nurse in the Radiation Oncology department at UNC Rex Cancer Center, where she collaborated with an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care to patients undergoing radiation therapy. Her role included managing side effects, providing patient education, and advocating for patients' needs to ensure optimal outcomes. Prior to that, Colvin gained invaluable experience in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Alabama Birmingham, where she cared for patients with acute conditions such as respiratory failure, sepsis, and organ failure.
“Evan’s background in critical care, paired with her dedication to patient care and safety, makes her a valuable addition to our team,” said Bert Beard, CEO of Maria Parham Health. “Her diverse clinical expertise and commitment to providing compassionate care will enhance our ability to serve our patients and continue our mission of delivering high-quality gastrointestinal care.”
Colvin is board-certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) and holds licensure in North Carolina. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American Nurses Association.
Maria Parham GI Associates is excited to have Colvin join the team, as her broad range of skills and experience will further strengthen the practice's commitment to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients in the community.
