"I delivered my first baby at Maria Parham on March 6, 2022 and wanted to share with you that I had an exceptional experience. I had an induction scheduled for Sunday night, March 6, but ended up going into labor on my own on Saturday, March 5, and we arrived at the hospital about 11:00 PM that night, and I delivered our baby girl, Emersyn Quinn Breedlove, Sunday, March 6 at 12:41 PM. "
"All of the staff members who worked with us during our stay were absolutely wonderful, and I felt that they all went above and beyond for me and my new baby. They knew that I wanted to try and breastfeed and everyone was extremely supportive and willing to help me with latching and any breastfeeding questions or concerns. These are the nurses and doctors who really made my experience an exceptional one:
"Kristi - Kristi was my nurse when I went in on Saturday night with contractions. She explained everything to me with patience and kindness and helped to encourage me through having contractions. She was also our nurse on Sunday night once we got to the postpartum room. Once again, she was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and kind, and she even offered to watch the baby for us for a couple of hours so that we could get some rest."
"Alissa - Alissa was my nurse Sunday morning and was with me for the whole 3 hours I was pushing. She coached me through pushing while also letting me rest between contractions/pushes. She was gentle but at the same time made sure that I was pushing as hard and as long as I could each time. She was also extremely professional and kind and I am so thankful that she was my nurse and was there to encourage me and coach me through."
"Kaitlyn - Kaitlyn was with us in the delivery room and then was the nurse who moved us to the postpartum room Sunday afternoon. She is fun and energetic but at the same time so knowledgeable and willing to help. You can tell she truly loves what she does and she is excellent at it. I was really nervous about going to the bathroom for the first time after delivering but she was so calming and showed me exactly what to do and how to care for my episiotomy each time I went to use the bathroom. She was also our nurse when we were discharged on Tuesday, March 8 and she was so helpful and thorough to make sure we had all the information we needed, appointments scheduled, and were using the car seat correctly."
"Phyllis - Phyllis was my nurse during the day on Monday, March 7. She was so caring and gentle and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, doing OK with breastfeeding, and had everything we needed."
"Sharzon - Sharzon was our nurse on Monday night. She was very helpful with breastfeeding and teaching me how and when to burp the baby. She is also the one who gave the baby her first bath, and she swaddled her up so tight and warm after the bath - you could tell baby was so secure and comfortable."
"Dr White - Dr White broke my water on Sunday morning and then delivered our baby girl on Sunday afternoon. When breaking my water, she made sure all my questions were answered and explained exactly what she was doing and how she was doing it. During delivery, she explained that she could do an episiotomy to help the baby come out since I had been pushing for close to 3 hours. I said yes and once again she was so thorough and explained everything that she was doing. Then, after just 2 more pushes I had my baby girl in my arms! Dr White was wonderful and I will always be so thankful that she was the one who delivered our baby."
"A few other people who made my experience as great as it was are Dr Beardsley, Dr Ahmed, and Nancy - who was also in the delivery room with us."
"I would definitely recommend Maria Parham to anyone who is pregnant and trying to decide where to deliver. "
